Bikram Yoga #1 in Lieu of Running

As my training begins in 2016, I've needed to take an "easier" route to start my training; which is by doing Bikram Yoga . I've been under the weather and thought stretching exercises, poses will do the trick. This is truly a great alternative to my running. In fact, it helps with cross training. I have not done yoga in awhile, like over a a year or so. But if you haven't tried this type of yoga, take the challenge. Basically, the studio room temperature is set at around 108 degrees. Your in a room full of people dressed like they are about to hit the pool or lay out at the beach. The session is 90 minutes long, in that time you will work on completing 26 poses. The instructor is very good in guiding you throughout the poses, by encouraging and motivating you. Not bad, but as you start the session, it really gets intense and feel your working out. When you reach the last pose, you'll be so relieved that you completed all of the poses. You'll begin...

Half Marathon. Training. Starts.

In 2016, I will embark on a couple of running events in April. I will start training for the following half marathons; "The Transamerica Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon San Francisco affords runners that unique opportunity to run across the Golden Gate Bridge followed by a tour of the picturesque Bay Area and up and down its hilly terrain – through stunning neighborhoods and waterfront property. With unique historic city architecture and cultural diversity, this event is a fan favorite and it is the truest of destination cities." This run is scheduled for Sunday, April 3rd. This will once again be a fundraising running event to support and run as a St. Jude Hero to support St. Jude's lifesaving mission of finding cures and saving children. My goal is to reach $500 for this notable and worthwhile cause. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital The following Sunday, I will be running The Hapalua - Hawaii's Half Marathon on April 10th. In the next 80 days, I wi...

Start. 2016. Running.

As this year comes to a close, I'm reflecting on the many accomplishments, contributions, and challenges I've undertaken to help others. For that, I've decided to run in the San Francisco Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon San Francisco, CA on April 3, 2016 as a St. Jude Hero to support St. Jude's lifesaving mission of finding cures and saving children. I want to help make sure that no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude, but I need your support to help me reach my fundraising goal. It costs $2 million a day to operate St. Jude. Did you know that 70% of the funds come from the public? That means your donation, no matter what the size, will help! A mere $500 will help me reach my goal! Please visit my St. Jude Heroes fundraising page to make a donation. I start hard core training soon! Join me on this continuing journey to help others. Sincerely, Edgar Running. Fundraising.
