Bikram Yoga #1 in Lieu of Running

As my training begins in 2016, I've needed to take an "easier" route to start my training; which is by doing Bikram Yoga . I've been under the weather and thought stretching exercises, poses will do the trick. This is truly a great alternative to my running. In fact, it helps with cross training. I have not done yoga in awhile, like over a a year or so. But if you haven't tried this type of yoga, take the challenge. Basically, the studio room temperature is set at around 108 degrees. Your in a room full of people dressed like they are about to hit the pool or lay out at the beach. The session is 90 minutes long, in that time you will work on completing 26 poses. The instructor is very good in guiding you throughout the poses, by encouraging and motivating you. Not bad, but as you start the session, it really gets intense and feel your working out. When you reach the last pose, you'll be so relieved that you completed all of the poses. You'll begin...

Half Marathon. Training. Starts.

In 2016, I will embark on a couple of running events in April. I will start training for the following half marathons; "The Transamerica Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon San Francisco affords runners that unique opportunity to run across the Golden Gate Bridge followed by a tour of the picturesque Bay Area and up and down its hilly terrain – through stunning neighborhoods and waterfront property. With unique historic city architecture and cultural diversity, this event is a fan favorite and it is the truest of destination cities." This run is scheduled for Sunday, April 3rd. This will once again be a fundraising running event to support and run as a St. Jude Hero to support St. Jude's lifesaving mission of finding cures and saving children.
